Newt contacted Helmie about being president. Helmie will think and get back to Newt
Mindy contacted Jim Hickey about being President. No interest
Newt will follow-up with Bill Clopp, Chris Catania, Scott Kieserman.
Newt contacted Paul Coward of BBYC and confirmed that they will host the Mariner Nationals in the summer of 2007.
Newt will send out Association bills in April or May.
Newt will send E-mail out to members asking for articles for the Newsletter.
Tom needs to provide Financial Report
Tom needs to provide Chris with the info about new members so Chris can send out New Member Packets.
Tom will make all current Association officers (7) members current through 2006. Newt decided on this as appropriate for the work we do you do for the Association.
Chris to send a copy of the Helpful Hints to Mindy.
Chris to check usefulness of US Sailing Fleet Captain Manual and possibly distribute to our Fleet Captains.
Chris to check if Mariners can still be listed for the Yacht Racing Association of Long Island sound YRALIS for their regatta Aug 26-27
Mindy working on May Newsletter with deadline of April 1st for info/articles
We are reaching our goal of 4 Newsletters in a year.
Mindy contacted Fleet Captains for a profile of themselves and their sail area to put in the Newsletters. 2 have responded.
40th Anniversary of Mariner Class Association.
Possibly spend $500 -750 for mementos
Mindy to work on design of a logo for 40th anniv. For a Medallion and get cost info from Mark Horger. Mindy E Mailed. No reply to date.
Chris will get price estimate for medallions from Sculptures by Claire.
We are thinking of a Medallion for each boat @ Nationals and then a few to sell if anyone is interested. They can be mounted on the boat if the owners desires.
3 Rules changes are approved to be in the May Newsletter.
Newt will put an explanation together and method of voting by mail or E-mail to put in the Newsletter.
Newt will handle receiving the votes.

New Message Board now requires registration/password
Work on getting last Newsletter on the Mariner Website.
Work on eliminating the old Message Board.
Add a section listing: Vendors of equipment/materials etc appropriate for the Mariners.
Newt will get some vendors together to review before posting.
Mariner Nationals
Officers suggest offering some day sail activity for Sat/Sun in case anyone wants to come and not race.
Discussion on boats from other clubs: SCYC 3, BBYC 3, RYC 4-5 others 3, Narrasketuck YC ???
We discussed again having a Transom Trophy awarded to the skipper that beats 1 boat thus showing his transom to the last place boat.
Newt will provide the Transom Trophy as a Presidential Award this year.
The Associations has not recently provided $$$ to Club hosting Nationals.
If attendance is lower than budgeted, class may help offset if there are losses to the host Club.
