Since this is a rain or shine event, and given that dock space must be reserved well in advance, I understand no refunds are available after I register. Should it be impossible for me to attend the event after I register, I will contact the event organizer and all efforts will be made to find a replacement from the waiting list who might attend in my place and reimburse me at a later date. I understand, however, such a replacement might not be available.

It's official: The 2019 Mariner National Rendezvous will be the weekend of August 2-4. We will once again be departing from the Niantic River launch ramp in Connecticut and heading east to the incomparable destination of Mystic Seaport.

The Seaport was the primary destination from 2012-2016, and there's just no place like it. One could spend days simply touring the Seaport grounds, but with a plethora of stores in the nearby downtown as well as even more stores a mile's walk north to "Mistick Village", there is truly something for everyone of all ages.

The dockmaster, Greg Zabel, was part of the dock staff during the infamous 2013 Rendezvous when fifteen Mariners weathered a storm in Long Island Sound and made it safely to the Seaport; he was on the docks helping us tie up when we all came in soaked and exhausted. Now promoted to dockmaster, he is thrilled we are coming again, and he's laying out the red carpet for us. The floating slips we'll be using are only used for Seaport boats and annual events like the WoodenBoat Show - never for transients. The Mariner Class Association is the ONLY exception, and our continuing relationship allows us to enjoy this unique experience whenever we go there.

Much more information will be revealed in the next few months, but in the meantime, mark your calendars now - it's okay to start getting excited about it! If you have never attended a Rendezvous before but would like to, this is the perfect opportunity. Feel free to post questions in the "Cruising" forum.
